Robert ("Bob") Charles Bryan (born on April 29, 1978
in Camarillo, California) is an American male
professional tennis player. Bob stands 6'4" tall,
weighs 202 lbs, and plays left handed. He turned Pro
in 1998.
He played for Stanford University in 1997 and 1998,
where he helped the Cardinal win back-to-back NCAA
team championships. In 1998, he won the 'Triple
Crown' by taking the NCAA singles, doubles (with his
twin brother Mike) and team titles. He was the first
man to accomplish this since Stanford's Alex O'Brien
did it in 1992.
Together with his twin brother Mike (who is the
younger by two minutes at birth) he has been very
successful in doubles. He has won 25 titles,
including five Grand Slam titles. In 2005, he and
Mike made it to the finals of all the 4 Grand Slam
tournaments, only the second time such a feat has
been achieved in the Open era. In 2006, the Bryan
brothers won Wimbledon and the Australian Open and
achieved a career grand slam. They repeated their
Australian Open victory in 2007. The Bryan Brothers
are currently seeded #1 in the ATP. Twice they were
No. 1 team at the end of a season; in 2004 and 2005.
