Víctor Zapata is a left footed Argentine football
midfielder. He was born on January 20, 1979, in the
city of San Martín in the Buenos Aires Province of
Argentina. He currently plays for Velez Sarsfield of
the Primera Division Argentina.
Zapata started his career in 1998 with Argentinos
Juniors, a club that has produced many talented
players of the last 30 years.
In 1999 Zapata moved to River Plate where he won
four league titles during his first spell with the
club. In 2003 he spent a season with Real Valladolid
in La Liga in Spain, he returned to River after
Valladolid were relegated at the end of the season.
In 2007 Zapata joined Vélez Sársfield in a free
transfer after River denied the posibility of
extending his contract.
