Jonathan Earl Cheechoo (born July 15, 1980, in Moose Factory, Ontario) is a professional ice hockey right winger who, as of January 2008, plays for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. Cheechoo was the first member of the Moose Cree First Nation to play in the NHL. He was also the first Shark and the only First Nations person to win the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy, awarded to the NHL player with the most goals in a season. He shoots right-handed. He and his father, a minister of the Gospel, are born again Christians.
