Junior Seau (born Tiaina Baul Seau Jr. on January
19, 1969 in San Diego, California) is an American
football linebacker who is currently a free agent.
He was originally drafted by the San Diego Chargers
fifth overall of the 1990 NFL Draft. He played
college football at Southern California
Seau is considered one of the best players to never
win a Super Bowl, and is notable for his 12 career
Pro Bowl selections and 16 seasons for the San Diego
Chargers and Miami Dolphins. Seau retired from
football in 2006, four days before signing a
one-year contract with the New England Patriots. He
officially re-signed with New England on May 21,
2007.
