John Michael Carney (born April 20, 1964 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He was originally signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 1987. He played college football at Notre Dame.

Carney has made the Pro Bowl once in his career - with the San Diego Chargers in 1994.

Carney attended Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was a letterman in football. In football, he won All-State honors as a kicker.
