Jesse Percee Chatman (born September 22, 1979 in
Houston, Texas) is an American football running back
for the New York Jets of the National Football
League. He was originally signed by the San Diego
Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He
played college football at Eastern Washington.
Chatman has also played for the Miami Dolphins and
New Orleans Saints in his career.
Chatman was a highly decorated prep running back at
Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington, His
Head Football Coach was Joseph Slye (who also
coached NFL stars Corey Dillon and James Hasty).
Chatman's High School position coach was former
NFL-running back Terry Metcalf. In honor of his many
accomplishments at Franklin, his success at Eastern
Washington University, and his rise to prominence in
the NFL, Chatman's high school raised his Franklin
jersey in a ceremony at the school and it will
remain displayed in tribute.
