Dwight Jason Freeney (born February 19, 1980 in
Hartford, Connecticut) is an American football
player who currently plays defensive end for the
Indianapolis Colts. On July 13, 2007, Freeney
received the biggest contract ever given to a
defensive player in the NFL.
A long time resident of Bloomfield, Connecticut,
Freeney played football for Bloomfield High School
where he earned All Conference (CCC WEST) and All
State (CIAC) honors. Freeney was born to Jamaican
parents and raised down the street from current WNBA
star Nykesha Sales (Connecticut Sun). He played for
the Syracuse Orange.
