Kevin John Correia (born 1980-08-24 in San Diego,
California) is a pitcher for the San Francisco
Giants of Major League Baseball. He attended
Grossmont High School in El Cajon, California. He
attended Grossmont Junior College and then
transfered toCal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2000. He
was drafted by the Giants in the fourth round (127th
overall) of the 2002 MLB Draft. In 2008, Correia
hired Chris Springfield as his agent. Correia and
Springfield grew up together in San Diego.
Springfield has a law degree and an MBA, and works
under the mentorship of agent and sports attorney,
Barry Axelrod, out of San Diego. Correia is of
Portuguese-American heritage.
Correia became arbitration eligible prior to the
2008 season. The parties settled in early February
at $1.075 million plus $75K in incentives based on
starting appearances.
