Julian Tavarez   August 26, 2007               Julián Tavárez is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. Julian Carmen Tavárez was born on May 22, 1973 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and received no formal education. The son of a construction worker living in poverty, Tavárez shined shoes, sold newspapers and helped out at construction sites.
